The exquisite mezzo-soprano Véronique Gens, together with pianist Joseph Middleton, a regular guest at LIFE Victoria, present this recital in memory and tribute to the great soprano Felicity Lott (1947–2026), who passed away last May. Through this concert, the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation wishes to celebrate the life and legacy of this remarkable soprano, who was so generous to us. Gens and Middleton will perform a sophisticated programme of French mélodie that promises to be a moving tribute to “Flott,” as she was affectionately known by her friends. Lott was, indeed, one of the finest interpreters of the French repertoire, both in recital and on the operatic and operetta stage, particularly renowned for her definitive interpretation of Francis Poulenc’s La voix humaine, in both its orchestral and piano versions.
